Coppermine – Security Release (1.4.26) – Upgrade Mandatory

Dear users,

if you utilize Coppermine Gallery, do upgrade it to the 1.4.26 version as soon as possible otherwise your gallery may be hacked. Older versions of the scripts have a lot of bugs which is why hackers are able to get access to the Coppermine and hack databases.

If you upgraded your gallery to 1.4.26 but your version of the Stramm is 1.4.24, you are still vulnerable to hacking. The newer version of Stramm is available so do upgrade right now.

You should also make a backup of all your databases. If you cannot upgrade your gallery on your own, please contact us and we will do it for you.

Important Notice

We are checking all accounts and fansites which have not been updated for ages are removed.

If you would like to ask for additional time, do not hesitate to contact us and let us know about it.

Fansites which are not opened within a month will be deleted.

Fansites which have failed to put our advertisements will be suspended.

we would like to inform you that the new server is ready now. As we had mentioned before, it is the best server of all which we currently possess. If you run a high quality fansite, do not hesitate and apply!

What’s more, Cpanels which are installed on all servers were upgraded to the newest version yesterday.

we are sorry for the lack in updates recently. However, we would like to let you know that Flaunt Network continues its operations and development. A new server (Intel Bi Xeon Quad 8x 2.00+ GHz , 16 GB RAM, 2x 1500 GB HDD) is going to be available in few days’ time. It will be the best server of all which we currently possess. What’s more, we plan to develop Flaunt Network next year. This is going to be a huge surprise for all of you.

Last but not least, we have managed to introduce a special system which is going to inform the staff when one of the services is down. This means that if one service is down, the staff will know about it within 5 minutes. Due to this system, we will be able to fix the problem much faster.

Mandatory Upgrade

Dear Users,

we would like to announce that the newest version of WordPress has been released (2.8.5). The headline changes in this release include:
• a fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen,
• removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated,
• switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including admins,
• retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

We would recommend that all sites are upgraded to this new version of WordPress to ensure that you have the best available protection.

Do not forget to upgrade all your scripts, especially Coppermine, because many of you use old versions which is not a good idea at all.

S4 Info

Dear Users,

as you may have noticed, there is a minor problem with one of our servers, namely S4. We are working on providing a solution to this issue as soon as possible. The problem with harddrives occured and they will be replaced with new ones. It may take a few days. Do not worry, your data is safe. We have the most recent backups. Sorry for the inconvenience. New Backup System

We are glad to inform that the new backup system has been introduced to all servers which resulted in all data being completely secure now.

Major Innovations

Dear Users,

the backup system introduced to one of the servers (S4) has performed well. This has resulted in the server working much more efficiently. Therefore, we are going to introduce the same backup systems on the other servers in two or three weeks’ time.

What is more, we are working on a special system which would check all the servers and their services and notify the administrators when something stops working. This will facilitate removing the problem much faster as the staff is going to be notified of the problem via SMS.

If it proves successful, it will be introduced to the remaining servers as well. The old system overloaded the servers pretty much which resulted in your fansites working a bit slower.
